School Philosophy       

We at P.S. 207Q seek to provide a challenging curriculum with the flexibility to meet the individual needs of each student. Our high expectations for academic achievement are combined with the need for a growing awareness of others and ourselves and the unique worth of each individual. Although teaching styles vary, we recognize and respect different learning styles and are committed to incorporating various philosophies, techniques and materials in order to reach each child. Basic skills taught not only in isolation but also in integration with one another ensure effective, secure mastery.
      We place strong emphasis on reading, personal expression of ideas through speaking, writing and the creative arts as well as the mastery of problem solving and independent thinking skills. Our students are offered a variety of academic, cultural and technological experiences in an attempt to broaden their educational views.
      We seek to show our students a caring community by working together and respecting one another. We have a strong commitment to develop in our students a broader sense of the world and the obligation to become responsible members of the community, providing service to others as needed. This is our school, our community and our belief.
